Made a $77 payment to Capital One card #2

June 12th, 2012 at 10:54 am

This past weekend I shopped around on prepaid cell phone plans. I was able to find the exact same plan that I am on now with a different carrier for $20 cheaper a month. I did some research online found surprisingly that it wasn't too good to be true. I would have been paying my current carrier's payment this week. Since I saved $20 I added to my capital one bill's minimum payment that was due yesterday.I'm very proud of myself because in the past I would have easily blew that $20 on something else. My previous balance was $573 which was $73 over the limit now i am just two dollars under but i'm happy i'll avoid the fee next month.

Good on you for a change in thinking. Not only have you saved $20. on the phone bill, by multiplying by 12 months it's $240. Eliminating the fee from Capital One CC over-the-limit fee adds even more control over how you use money. How can we help you in your quest for thrift to accelerate becoming debt free?

I suggest using a meal plan to reduce the 'what's for dinner' stresses. If your bank is adding more and more fees, for services that used to be free, look at joining a Credit Union. Those fees look small but they add-up over a year and better in your pocket.

What needs to change to stop Parking Tickets? Ouch, those unplanned expenses hurt!

    That's great, Londynsmom. Smile

Does this particular credit card charge interest? Will the interest cause you to be over the limit and trigger another over limit fee?

Please share more about the prepaid plan. I'd love to know the details.
